Electric Deebo Samuel Leads 49ers in Week 2, Kyle Shanahan’s Featured Fantasy WR

Kyle Shanahan is set on finding creative ways to get Deebo Samuel the football.

Kyle Shanahan can’t stop manufacturing touches for his electric rookie wideout, Deebo Samuel. Starting over the bust that is Dante Pettis for the second straight game to begin the season, Samuel was targeted seven times and carried the ball twice against the Bengals. In return, he caught five balls for 87 yards and a score. Shanahan motioned him all over the line of scrimmage, hit him behind the line of scrimmage on a throw-back screen and caught passes all over the field. Deebo’s bag of tricks were all on display against the Bengals.

Although Pettis eventually out-snapped him in the blowout, it’s clear the crafty play-calling head coach is giddy about the former Gamecock. He’ll continue to start and he’ll continue to make defenders look silly after the catch.

What’s insane about all of this, is that even though Samuel looks to be Jimmy Garoppolo’s clear No. 2 target behind their stud tight end, George Kittle, he’s still only owned in 29 percent of Yahoo leagues. What’s even more insane is that this article wasn’t written before the Week 3 Waiver Wire hit… it’s now Wednesday night.

Anyways, Deebo is our WR43 (+7 vs the ECR) for Week 3 and he’s our Rest of Season WR48, which is an embarrassing +26 vs the ECR.
