Carlos Hyde Surprisingly Bathed in 20 Carries, Now Week 3 Fantasy Waiver Priority

The Texans fed Carlos Hyde to the tune of 20 carries. Are you worried, Duke Johnson owners?

Carlos Hyde has played for just about every team in the league over the last few seasons and he finally made a fantasy impact when the Texans handed him the ball 20 (!) times for 90 yards against the Jaguars. Hyde surprisingly out-touched Roto Street darling Duke Johnson 20-to-6, with both backs putting up nothing in the passing game. However, it was interesting to see the now-journeyman running back take such control over the Texans’ backfield. Entering the Week 3 Waiver Wire, Hyde is still available in 57 percent of leagues and should be a priority if you’re looking for running back depth.

The Texans could be in for a shootout next week against the Chargers, which could favor Duke, but Hyde still has some upside if the Texans are looking to control the clock. Even though Johnson seems like a sketchy play at the moment, he could be utilized more in the passing game this week and coming up against the Panthers, Falcons, Chiefs, Colts and Raiders.

Is this the break Carlos Hyde has been always waiting for? Or do believe Week 2 was a fluke? Either, or, Hyde is a talented back (maybe?) and stashing him at the end of your bench wouldn’t hurt for a few weeks.
