Derrius Guice Injures Hamstring as his Fantasy Stock Continues to Tumble

Derrius Guice was already amidst a tough offseason with AP resigned and Bryce Love added. A hamstring injury won't help matters.

One of the most common injuries post-ACL tear is a hamstring injury. It happened with Dalvin Cook last season and per Erin Hawksworth of 106.7 The Fan, Derrius Guice suffered the same fate recently. Guice has somewhat refuted the report by tweeting out, “I don’t listen to the noise, I know what’s going on with me.” However, he quickly deactivated his account. But there has to be something going on, as the LSU product was unable to practice during OTAs and now the start of training camp is in question. With major health and surrounding talent concerns, Guice has gone from a player that we were about to go “all-in” on in 2018, to almost a fantasy afterthought in 2019.

With old man Adrian Peterson re-signed and striving for 2,000 yards (lol), along with the addition of the talented, yet oft-injured Bryce Love, Guice will have an uphill battle to gain backfield supremacy in DC. If the reports are true that the sophomore back suffered the always lingering hamstring injury while recovering from his ACL tear, it’ll be tough to believe that he’ll make any sort of consistent fantasy impact this season. Whether Dwayne Haskins is thrown into the fire or Case Keenum attempts to play decent football, it’s going to be difficult to trust any member of this putrid offense.

With this report and the other serious question marks surrounding Guice, he’s currently our RB34 on our Big Board.
