Garrett Bradbury Anchors Improved Offensive Line, Dalvin Cook Huge Offseason Winner

The Vikings are going all-in on Dalvin Cook this season.

All signs point to the Vikings going all-in on Dalvin Cook this season. Drafting Garrett Bradbury No. 18 overall solidified their commitment to Cook and the run game. Bradbury is a hyper-athletic center with excellent core strength. He is also a fluid mover who really thrives as a run blocker. One of the most impressive parts of Bradbury’s game is his exceptional footwork in a zone-blocking scheme — which is a match made in football heaven with the addition of Gary Kubiak. Bradbury further raises the already climbing stock of Dalvin Cook for 2019.

With the addition of Bradbury, along with Kubiak, the Vikings are really committing to the run game in 2019.  Kubiak is the premier bell cow running back breeder.  Bradbury’s athleticism, footwork, and superior upper body strength makes him a perfect center for Minnesota’s zone-blocking scheme.

Last season, after the firing of offensive coordinator John DeFilippo and the promotion of Kevin Stefanski, Cook flourished.  Despite having the 29th overall ranked offensive line, Cook averaged 30 more rush yards on just two more rush attempts.  With the addition of Bradbury headlining the three offensive linemen drafted by the Vikings, Cook should have much better blocking upfront.  Cook comes in as No. 15 overall on the Big Board (+5 ECR) and the RB11 overall for 2019.
