Derrius Guice Hurt by Adrian Peterson’s Obnoxious Looming Presence

Adrian Peterson will damper Derrius Guice's progress in 2019.

Our hearts were broken early last season when Derrius Guice’s rookie season was over before it began. It was thought that he only suffered a MCL sprain, but it was later confirmed that the Redskins’ rookie indeed tore his ACL against the Patriots in a meaningless preseason game. At the time we were higher on Guice than most of the internet, as he was all the way up at No. 23 overall on our Big Board. In a surprising move at the time, the ‘Skins decided to turn to the corpse of Adrian Peterson, rather than investing their season into Rob Kelley or Samaje Perine.

In a surprising result, Peterson turned back the clock to the tune of a 1,042 yard, seven touchdown season. It was a great season for AP to showcase his 33-year old mannequin-esque body. However, we thought that would be it for Peterson in DC. We were wrong on Peterson and the ‘Skins again, as they re-signed the Peterson to a two-year, $8 million deal. We all know Peterson despises children, so this multi-year deal will certainly impede Guice’s development

As of right now, we dropped Guice down to RB24, which is right about where his ECR stands. On the other hand, we have Peterson ranked at No. 47 (+11 vs the ECR) and Chris Thompson at RB41, which is also +11 vs the ECR.

We’ve got headaches everywhere in our nation’s capitol.
