Mark Ingram Barrels Over Bengals, Volatile Fantasy Stock Continues

It's been an up-and-down season for Mark Ingram.

Mark Ingram rushed 13 times for 104 yards while catching three passes for 58 yards and a touchdown in Sunday’s Week 10 win over the Bengals.

Sunday was Ingram’s first 100-yard rushing game since Week 11 of last season as he found gaping room all afternoon against a non-existent Bengals defense. Ingram found the end zone on a 28-yard screen pass in which is almost appeared as the Bengals defense was trying to let him score. Ingram still took a back seat to Alvin Kamara at the goal line. Ingram’s big day was largely a product of the opponent and game script, leaving him as a sketchy fantasy option next week against the Eagles strong rushing defense.

As mentioned above, while there was a lot to love from Ingram’s huge day against the Bengals there are some red flags surrounding it. The game script was so heavily tilted in his favor as New Orleans did whatever it wanted to with the Bengals pushing a run heavy scheme. He also didn’t get goal line duties as Kamara succeeded there where the roles had previously been reversed.

The upcoming schedule isn’t doing any favors for Ingram and the running game. The Eagles have one of the best run defenses, and then the Falcons are horrendous at defending backs out in the passing game which fits Kamara’s role to a T. It’s not to say we don’t like Ingram, we do. But don’t let your expectations get too high.
