Texans QB Deshaun Watson Tears ACL in Practice

The Texans' star quarterback is done for the season.

An atomic bomb was dropped on the football world late Wednesday afternoon when NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted this out re: Deshaun Watson:

Then Schefter soon confirmed:

This is obviously a brutal blow for the player, the team and the league after Watson took the NFL by storm once he took over for Tom Savage. The future Rookie of the Year resurrected DeAndre Hopkins as a bonafide  upper-echelon wide receiver, and made Will Fuller the NFL’s most dangerous deep threat. Watson turned an anemic offense into the league’s most electrifying, and made the entire team better around him.

From a fantasy standpoint, The Wolf just published a Trade Deadline RoS Big Board (with Watson on the cover) today, and went as far as proclaiming Watson as the QB1 for the rest of the season. He ranked Hopkins as the overall WR2 in the Antonio Brown tier of elite wide receivers, while Fuller was ranked as the No. 10 wide receiver, a whopping 17 spots ahead of the so-called experts.

It’s safe to say that this is a devastating blow for fantasy football.

Check back later on tonight for The Wolf’s extensive fantasy football analysis on what this means for Hopkins, Fuller and the rest of the Texans’ offense moving forward.

We’ll see you next season, QB1.
