Fantasy Football 2017: The Wolf’s Midseason Big Board

Check out the best Midseason Big Board out there to see where all your players rank for the rest of 2017.

With 2017’s fantasy football season nearly 50% over and the playoffs inching closer, the time has come. No, not to stress eat five Eddie Lacy-sized servings at your local China Buffet. Rather, to take a step back from the weekly analysis and predictions, reflect on the season as a whole, and compile our first ever  Midseason Big Board.

This piece was both the most painstaking and enjoyable piece I’ve written all season. I also feel it could wind up being one of our most useful (with a little feedback from the #WolfPack). Very few sites are pumping out quality Season Long outlooks, and I intend to make this a more regular piece — maybe biweekly? Weekly? Let me know.

In compiling these rankings, I’ve reevaluated all players using:

A) Our Fantasy Stock Formula (Talent, Usage, Coaching Scheme, Surrounding Talent, Risk).

Six weeks of action is enough sample size to confidently reassess each category. For example, Todd Gurley has received massive bumps in “Usage” “Coaching Scheme” and “Surrounding Talent” thanks to: A) His massive receiving uptick B) Sean McVay‘s immense creativity and C) Jared Goff‘s “next step” alongside a bolstered offensive line. He’s appropriatey risen from mid second to Top-5 status.

I also weighed in:

B) Rest of Season Schedule:

In addition to crafting new “Player Profiles / Stock Scores,” Strength of Schedule is absolutely crucial to consider. Using tools like FantasyPros’ Matchup Calendar and FFToolBox’s SoS Grid, I’ve evaluated each player’s remaining slate (including Fantasy Playoffs) to help paint their Rest of Season Projections. Defenses may return or lose players here and there, but we can confidently utilize SoS data from here on out. I added notes on players I found particularly interesting — either a major riser, faller, or mind boggling question mark.

With all this laid out, let’s delay no further.  As always, I’m dying to hear from you. Your praise and criticism are my oxygen. So who’s way too high or low? Is someone insultingly missing? What questions have come up from reading this?
