Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is scheduled to undergo back surgery on Friday after suffering a herniated disk against the Seahawks and the timetable is unknown, per multiple reports. From a Patriots and NFL perspective, this obviously sucks. The Patriots lose their most dominant offensive player, while the NFL loses one of their star players. From a fantasy football perspective, this means his season is over.
Rob Gronkowski's back injury worse than thought. He is getting surgery tomorrow, per source. No time frame on possible return.

Gronk’s fantasy season ends with 540 yards and 3 touchdowns on 25 receptions, resulting in 97 fantasy points. #ThoughtsandPrayers to everyone who spent their first rounder on the injury-riddled tight end. If you did own him, you probably have a backup. If you do not have a backup and do not own Martellus Bennett, C.J. Fiedorowicz (38% owned), Cameron Brate (65%) and Ladarius Green (14%) are all decent streaming options.
Hopefully Gronk will return in time to lead the Patriots to their 5th Super Bowl title.
