Welcome to our weekly 2026 Fantasy Baseball Buy Low, Sell High column. We will help you identify the top 2026 fantasy football baseball trades to make in any given week. We’re going to outline three buy-lows and three sell-highs for Week 3 of Fantasy Baseball.
The key here is that we’ve carefully selected these recommendations to make sure that they’re reasonable. I’m not going to suggest that you buy low on a superstar who is off to a slow start, because it’s highly unlikely your leaguemate will accept an offer like that. The same goes for sell-highs: they won’t be obvious regression candidates.
With that in mind, find out why I’m buying low on Kyle Bradish, Alec Burleson, and Emmet Sheehan, while selling high on Edward Cabrera, Chandler Simpson, and Emerson Hancock.
Quick note: just because I’m saying to sell high on a player, doesn’t mean I think they won’t be valuable. It just could be the right time to cash in.

2026 FANTASY BASEBALL BUY LOW TARGETS (WEEK 3)
Kyle Bradish (SP – BAL)
Kyle Bradish is off to a slow start. His first two starts have been extremely underwhelming:
- 4 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 6 K
- 4.2 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 4 K
The command has been poor (15.8 BB%), but the good news is that the strikeout rate has been solid (26.3 K%). This is supported by a 13.4 SwStr%, so it’s clear that the stuff is there. It’s just that he hasn’t been able to find the strike zone.

Bradish currently has a 4.51 SIERA, which is much lower than his 6.23 ERA. Last season, he put up an elite 37.3 K% in 32 innings. Up next is a smash spot against the White Sox on Wednesday. There’s not much time left to try to get this potential ace at a discount.
Alec Burleson (1B, OF – STL)
Alec Burleson is currently slashing .216/.333/.351 with one home run and one stolen base in 45 plate appearances. However, there are several encouraging signs here.
Alec Burleson gives the Cardinals the lead! There have been 14 runs scored in the 6th inning in St. Louis! 🤯

For one, he’s walking more (15.6 BB%) than he’s striking out (8.9 K%). On top of that, he’s got a 52.9% hard-hit rate and an 8.8% barrel rate. It’s only a matter of time before Burleson gets out of his slump.
This is a hitter with .280, 25 HR upside. Take advantage if your leaguemate is getting impatient.
Emmet Sheehan (SP – LAD)
Emmet Sheehan has been abysmal through two starts:
- 5.2 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 2 K
- 3.1 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 6 K
The velocity has been down, as he’s averaging 93.9 MPH on his fastball (95.6 MPH last year) and 84.9 MPH on his changeup (86.2 last year). However, there’s a reasonable chance that this merely a slow start as he ramps up for the season.
I have zero shares of Emmet Sheehan, but only because I preferred waiting for Tyler Glasnow.

But Sheehan was hyped by many, especially by some of the best fantasy baseball players, for a reason.
I'd look to buy low.
Remember, this is a 26-year-old righty who put up a 3.20 SIERA and 23.0 K-BB% last season. The talent is there for him to be a front-line starter. This may be a buying opportunity.
2026 FANTASY BASEBALL SELL HIGH PLAYERS (WEEK 3)
Edward Cabrera (SP – CHC)

Edward Cabrera has a lot of upside, especially after a change in arm angle yielded improved control: he trimmed his walk rate from 12.0% to 8.3% last season.
The first two starts with the Cubs have been excellent for Cabrera:
- 5.2 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 5 BB, 4 K
- 6 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K
Only two hits across 11.2 innings is highly impressive. However, Cabrera has a 4.82 SIERA, which is much higher than his 0.00 ERA.
I think Cabrera will be effective all year, but now is your chance to cash in. I’d flip him for Bradish without hesitation.
Chandler Simpson (OF – TBR)
Chandler Simpson is off to a terrific start at the plate, slashing .395/.439/.447 with four stolen bases in 41 plate appearances.

This is a hitter who has 70+ stolen base upside. He hit over .300 consistently throughout his time in the minors, so the hit tool is good as well.
But unless you built a ton of power on your team, it could be tough to deal with the 1-2 home runs he’s going to provide. If you drafted Simpson, you likely built your squad in a way where he’d have to contribute most of the steals. Maybe you can flip him for a similar speedster who has a bit more pop, like Justin Crawford, plus another asset, like a fringe closer or starter.
Emerson Hancock (SP – SEA)
Emerson Hancock looks like a brand new pitcher so far:
- 6.2 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 K
- 6 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 9 K
Last season, Hancock had a 16.6 K% and 8.9 SwStr%. That has skyrocketed to 32.6 K% and 10.1 SwStr%.
Emerson Hancock showed improvement in spring with better stuff and a 33.3 K%.
— Frank Ammirante (@FAmmiranteTFJ) March 30, 2026
He followed that up with 6 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 9 K.
I had no interest in Hancock coming into the year, but he's now a must-add.
When a pitcher shows this upside, you add now and see where it goes.
While I think that Hancock can be effective all year, it may be time to cash in those chips. There’s a chance that Bryce Miller could return, sending Hancock back to the minors.
Even though Miller is likely out long-term, this is still a risk to acknowledge. Perhaps you can add another piece to Hancock to bring in someone like Bradish.
Summary: 2026 Fantasy Baseball Buy Low Sell High (Week 3)
Although the season is young, savvy 2026 Fantasy Baseball managers are already plotting the right trade strings to pull. Making the right 2026 Fantasy Baseball Buy Lows and Sell Highs this early can be a massive advantage.
As such, buying low on Kyle Bradish, Alec Burleson, and Emmet Sheehan could land you some undervalued production before they heat up and hit their true ceilings. Meanwhile, Edward Cabrera, Chandler Simpson, and Emerson Hancock could all be peaking, and make strong sell highs.
