Week 6 Fantasy Football Rankings Updates

Sunday, 10/12 Week 6 Fantasy Football Updates – Quentin Johnston, Kyler Murray, & more

I came back from a brief trip to the White Mountains to a ton of unexpected news. Here’s quick hitters on what impacted my Week 6 Fantasy Football Rankings:

NEW Bam Knight to Start Over Michael Carter, Avoid Cardinals RBs: Apparently, the Cardinals have seen enough of Michael Carter, who racked up only 51 yards on 18 carries last week. They will be rolling with Bam Knight as their starting RB. I was already lower on Carter, who is now unplayable. Knight is a risky dice roll too, but in sheer desperation spots, he can be tossed in (RB39).

Quentin Johnston, previously my WR15 on the week, is expected to MISS Sunday’s game vs. the Dolphins. Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen both get bumps up into my Top-20 WRs vs. a soft Miami defense. Perhaps exciting rookie Tre Harris ends up getting some real action for the first time too. He makes an intriguing stash in deeper leagues.

Kyler Murray, previously my QB17 (-2 ECR at the time) is also trending towards missing the game vs. the Colts. Honestly, Jacoby Brissett might be an upgrade for Marvin Harrison and Trey McBride — we saw him feed Terry McLaurin in spot-start duty a few years back. Brissett is not on my streaming radar, and I’d go to Old Man Joe Flacco before him.

NOTE: Indianapolis DST become even more attractive as a streaming option

Jauan Jennings is expected to play, while Ricky Pearsall has been ruled out. Mac Jones will also be starting at QB with Brock Purdy out. We saw Kendrick Bourne erupt for 11 targets, 10 catches, and 141 yards last week, so we know Jones is capable of stuffing his WR1’s stats. You’d assume that’s Jennings, but Bourne and Jones’ chemistry dates back to New England, so Bourne also rises up the ranks. Jennings slides in at WR29, significantly above the current ECR, while Bourne is now my WR34. The matchup vs. TB is ripe. Jake Tonges remains a nice streaming TE option even with Jennings back in the fold too.

-Chris Godwin and Darnell Mooney will both be OUT in Week 6 Fantasy Football. Deep, desperate leaguers could turn to Tez Johnson or Sterling Shepard in Godwin’s absence. Mooney’s removal will mean even more targets for Drake London in a script that will likely call for him to be peppered.

Thursday, 10/9 Week 6 Fantasy Football Rankings Updates:

Joe Flacco to the Bengals:

Flacco has been traded to the Bengals, who reportedly plan to “lean on him.” OK. Either way, Flacco can’t be worse than Jake Browning. Flacco hadn’t been inflating the Browns Pass Catchers in 2025 like he had in 2023, nor like he had for the Colts in 2024. Still, he’s capable (right?). Either way, it’s not a downgrade, while Flacco himself slides in at QB27 given the elite weaponry he now has at his disposal. Tee Higgins rises to WR31 (+4 ECR) and Ja’Marr Chase is my WR5 (+2 ECR). Given Flacco’s RB Checkdown tendencies, Chase Brown also rises to RB26 (+2 ECR).

Other Notes:

  • Brock Purdy, Ricky Pearsall, and Jauan Jennings still aren’t practicing. It might be the Mac Jones + Kendrick Bourne + Jake Tonges show once again in a shootout vs. TB. All parties intrigue me.

  • Tyrone Tracy is in line to play. While I still think this is Cam Skattebo‘s job, even a sliver of work going to Tracy would be meaningful in a tough matchup vs. PHI. Skattebo is thankfully game-flow proof as an elite pass-catcher, but Tracy also is a converted WR and phenomenal receiving asset out of the backfield, so Skat may siphon some valuable receiving work, knocking him down 5 spots to my RB20 — still very much playable.

  • Brock Bowers still isn’t practicing, but Michael Mayer has been practicing in full. Mayer immediately joins the streaming radar for Sunday if Bowers is ruled out vs. the soft TEN defense.

  • Brenton Strange will be out for the foreseeable future. Maybe a creature named Hunter Long can provide some juice, but unlikely. There’s other options (Tonges, Theo Johnson, AJ Barner)

Tuesday, 10/7: Omarion Hampton to IR + MNF Changes

Omarion Hampton is officially on the IR, and will miss at least the next 4 weeks. It feels disgusting, but Hassan Haskins seems to be the next in-line. Haskins is a straight-forward plodder, but you don’t need to be much more to succeed vs. the Dolphins, who just surrendered over 200 yards rushing to Rico Dowdle. I expect Kimani Vidal to form a RBBC here, but ultimately Haskins will lead the way and is a solid RB2 (RB27, +8 ECR) for Week 6 Fantasy. Vidal is more of a stash, but is still viable if desperate. He is my RB35 – in line with the ECR.

Monday, 10/6: Sunday Night Football Change = Stefon Diggs is HERE

The only major change to my Week 6 Fantasy Football Rankings is the rapid ascent of Stefon Diggs. He looks fully recovered from his ACL Surgery, and was absolutely carving up the Bills all night. Moving forward, Diggs should be considered a low-end WR1, consistently ranked in the WR8-15 range depending on matchup. He is now up +14 spots to my WR12 for Week 6 Fantasy Football.
