2025 NFL TRAINING CAMP NEWS (7/28)
JAYDON BLUE IMPRESSING AT COWBOYS CAMP AFTER ‘LAZY’ COMMENTS
Just a week after a former Cowboys coach made headlines by calling Jaydon Blue “lazy,” the explosive back is flipping the narrative, and it only took a week.
Blue has been one of the early standouts of Cowboys training camp, drawing praise from multiple beat reporters. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s Nick Harris said it would be “hard to ask for a much better first week of camp,” and even listed Blue as a runner-up among camp MVPs so far. ESPN’s Todd Archer also highlighted Blue’s “burst,” something that’s clearly popping more than what veteran plodders Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders are showing.

Despite the early red flag, Blue’s on-field talent is doing the talking. He’s a dynamic weapon out of the backfield with far more juice and versatility than the players ahead of him on the thin depth chart. His receiving ability and open-field speed give him a legitimate shot to carve out a significant role in one of the NFL’s highest-powered offenses, and sooner than expected.
For fantasy managers, Blue is firmly on the radar as a must-stash late-round pick in redraft and a sharp dart throw in best ball formats. If he continues trending upward, he could emerge as the Cowboys’ most dangerous backfield option and deliver league-winning upside, especially because we are expecting both of these guys to falter.

That upside is pretty unbelievable for a Round 12+ price
We’re keeping him firmly planted on our RSJ “Must-Have” list as training camp rolls on.
CAM SKATTEBO GETTING 1ST TEAM REPS AT GIANTS CAMP
Cam Skattebo is making noise at Giants camp, and fantasy managers should be paying close attention.
The rookie back is now getting first-team reps for the first time and drawing high praise from head coach Brian Daboll. When asked about Skattebo’s vision, Daboll didn’t hold back: “He’s got a good feel for the blocking assignments up front, but then he’s got good vision for the second level, and at times the third level… when to press the ball, when to cut it back, when to keep it front side.”

That type of praise, especially from a detail-focused coach like Daboll, speaks volumes about Skattebo’s chances of sticking in a significant role. The former Sun Devil finished with a jaw-dropping 2,316 scrimmage yards and 24 touchdowns last season at Arizona State, proving he can handle a massive workload. He’s not just a bruiser, either; he’s a reliable pass-catcher and a smooth operator in space.
With Tyrone Tracy Jr. ahead of him, a guy who fumbled a ton last year and is not built like an NFL workhorse, Skattebo is firmly in the mix for the RB1 job in New York. His three-down skill set gives him a path to fantasy relevance right away, especially in an offense that’s desperate for consistent playmakers.
Like Jaydon Blue, we’re locking Skattebo in as one of our favorite best ball and late-round redraft targets. He’s tough, productive, and built for volume. If he seizes the starting job, he could be this year’s late-round fantasy cheat code.
