2025 NFL TRAINING CAMP NEWS (7/24)
JUSTIN FIELDS CARTED OFF WITH DISCOLATED TOE; AVOIDS SERIOUS INJURY
Jets and fantasy football fans can breathe a bit easier after a scary scene at training camp. Justin Fields was carted off the field with what looked like a potential season-ending injury, but thankfully, it’s been diagnosed as a dislocated toe, per Jets HC Aaron Glenn.
UPDATE: After medical evaluation, QB Justin Fields sustained a dislocated toe in his right foot and will be day-to-day. Fields avoided serious injury and significant missed time.

That’s a huge sigh of relief for those banking on Fields, who currently ranks as our QB9 on The Wolf’s 2025 Fantasy Football Rankings. Now the Jets’ locked-in QB1, Fields brings top-tier upside, especially with his reunion tour alongside former Ohio State teammate Garrett Wilson.
Since taking over as a starter in 2022, Fields has averaged just under 20 fantasy points per game, finishing as a QB1 (on a points-per-game basis) in each of his first three seasons. His ultimate weapon? That elite rushing ability.
Fields, Lamar Jackson, and Jayden Daniels are the only quarterbacks in NFL history to average over 50 rushing yards per game. When Fields decides to run, it’s not just a scramble; it’s a home-run threat every time.
That said, toe injuries can be tricky, especially for a QB whose legs are such a massive part of his fantasy value. While the early diagnosis avoids worst-case scenarios, it’s still something to monitor as the season approaches. Fields’ mobility is what separates him from the pack, and even a minor setback could cap that ceiling early on.
If Fields does miss time, Tyrod Taylor will step in and could be worth a speculative stash in Superflex formats. He’s a savvy vet who can manage an offense and still offers a bit of rushing juice of his own.
For now, Fields dodged a major bullet. But dynasty and redraft managers alike should stay tuned in, because how he recovers could shape the early part of the 2025 fantasy football season.
THE ANNUAL KYLE PITTS HYPE TRAIN HAS LEFT THE STATION
Not only was Michael Penix’s first pass a 25-yard dart to Kyle Pitts, but the first player he mentioned at his presser was his golf partner and tight end, who he’s building chemistry with every day, on and off the field.
“You see we got KP the ball today,” Penix said to the media. “There’s going to be a lot of that.”

The young quarterback and his tight end have a close bond, which will hopefully unlock Pitts after busting since his historic rookie season when he eclipsed 1,000 yards receiving.
“He’s been working hard,” Penix said. “He’s had a great summer and I know he said he feels really good coming into camp. I can see it.”
Pitts will always have a role in the league due to his elite athleticism and upside, but he’s entering the final year of his rookie deal and will be up for a contract with Atlanta or in free agency next season.
“I think Kyle has been a talking point for all of us,” Falcons HC Raheem Morris said Thursday morning. “Everybody is trying to duplicate his rookie season.”
To put even more oil in the Pitts’ hype train, Falcons beat writer Will McFadden said Pitts, “has mostly been working with the Falcons wide receivers so far in practice.” He’s been moving around the formation “as often as he does” and it looks like the team wants to be more creative with their high-upside weapon who can terrorize slower linebackers and out-muscle defensive backs.
It doesn’t seem like The Wolf is participating in the annual Pitts’ tire pump, as he currently sits at TE20 in his 2025 Fantasy Rankings.
