Keke Coutee Fantasy Outlook Ascends, Now Week 14 Waiver Wire Target as Texans WR2

Deshaun Watson peppered Keke Coutee in Week 13, making his fantasy outlook and Week 14 waiver wire appeal soar.

It seems as though Deshaun Watson can make do with anyone on the perimeter. With Will Fuller popped for PEDs and Kenny Stills released, it was time for our old friend, Keke Coutee to step up… and in Week 13, he did just that. According to PFF, Coutee almost doubled his season snap total last week. He also ran 42 routes and put up 141 yards and eight receptions against a stingy Colts’ defense. Running as the team’s WR2 behind Brandin Cooks, who got checked and later cleared by the docs for his 100th concussion, Coutee is a Week 14 Waiver Wire priority entering the fantasy playoffs.

“They already know whenever they step on the field, regardless if it’s practice or it’s a game, I’m going to treat you like a starter,” Watson said about his WR MASH unit. “I’m not trying to target just one person. Whoever is open, I’m going through my reads, being that quarterback, and I’m going to give you an opportunity to make a play. For me, I expect you to make that play, just like they expect me to make every throw and every play. That’s the standard.”

While Coutee is typically known as a possession receiver, he had four explosive plays over 15 yards in Week 13, highlighted by a 64-yard gallop.

This isn’t the first time that Coutee and Watson have connected. He popped a bit in his rookie season when he corralled 28 balls in six games and then another 22 the following year in nine games.

Along with Coutee, some creature named Chad Hansen also found himself on the receiving end of Watson’s targets, finishing with five grabs for 101 yards. Hansen would be the ultimate deep-league stash but at this point in the fantasy season, there’s no need to add him to your roster.

Overall, if a receiver is getting over 10 targets in a Watson-led offense, he should be targeted on the Week 14 Waiver Wire.

However, The Wolf isn’t too high on Coutee. He is The Wolf’s WR47 (-2 vs ECR) on the Rest of Season Rankings and WR42 (-5 vs ECR) on his Week 14 Fantasy Football Rankings.
