Carlos Hyde Fantasy Outlook Soars With Chris Carson ‘Unlikely to Play’ Week 11 vs Cardinals

With Chris Carson set to miss another week, Carlos Hyde's fantasy outlook rises as Seahawks Week 11 workhorse.

TNF Carlos Hyde Fantasy Outlook Update (11/19):  Chris Carson is officially OUT. Not only this, but Alex Collins, one week after a useful 43 yard + TD effort, won’t be activated. Wait! There’s more! Travis Homer (hand) will be OUT, leaving only DeeJay Dallas and Bo Scarborough active alongside Hyde.

Consequently, Hyde faces even less competition than anticipated, and might (sickeningly) be the best pass-catcher of the bunch. He should see 15-20 touches, with a handful of targets and GL looks mixed in. This type of volume in one of the league’s most explosive offenses = fantastic value. The Wolf ranks him RB15, just behind Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

As of Wednesday night, it looks like it will be Carlos Hyde’s backfield in the Seahawks’ Thursday night matchup against the Cardinals. According to a friend of the program, Adam Schefter, Hyde no longer has an injury designation and Chris Carson (foot) is set to miss another week after getting a couple of limited sessions this week. To juice up Carlos Hyde’s fantasy outlook even more, Travis Homer (wrist, knee, thumb) is doubtful to play. That leaves Hyde and the ghost of Alex Collins to tear up the Cardinals’ front seven in a game that will try to live up to their Week 7 shootout.

Carlos Hyde Week 11 Fantasy Outlook Soars With Chris Carson Injury

Although we haven’t seen Hyde since that duel against the Cards, the former Buckeye had his best game of the season, notching over 15 fantasy points in a half’s worth of work when Carson exited in the second quarter. In that half, Hyde carried the ball 15 times for 68 yards and a score. He then found the end zone again on one of his three receptions.

“They did make it through the week and Carlos looked strong throughout,” Pete Carroll said on Wednesday. “With Chris, we’re going to wait until tomorrow to see what we’re doing with it, but he did practice and looked good in all the stuff that he did. We’re real close with Chris, and feeling really good that Carlos will be out there.”

Although DeeJay Dallas and Homer initially took over RB duties, Alex Collins crept out of the sewers last week and put up 43 yards and a touchdown on a team-leading 11 carries. Collins looked fine in his return to relevance, but we expect Hyde to get the bulk of the touches as the more talented back. Dallas went to the back of the pecking order, only touching the ball twice in Week 10.

With this news, Carlos Hyde (still only 22 percent owned) slides into RB17 in The Wolf’s Week 11 Fantasy Football Rankings.
