After a strange Week 9 game in which he only logged 2 touches in the first half, Derrick Henry had himself a day against the Chiefs. He finished the afternoon with 23 carries for 188 yards and 2 TDs, giving him the top RB fantasy performance across the NFL in Week 10. Henry has been phenomenal for Tennessee this season, currently sitting at 4th in the league in rushing yards and proving to be a big reason why the Titans have won 3 of their last 4.
Head coach Mike Vrabel explained away Henry’s low usage in Week 9 as an issue of game flow, with the team facing many 2nd- and 3rd-and-long’s against Carolina. The game flow favored Henry heavily against Kansas City, however, as Tennessee did everything in their power to keep the ball away from KC’s loaded offense. It worked perfectly, as they won the game and rode their workhorse back to do so.
Henry remains a high-tier RB2 for the rest of the 2019 season as Tennessee heads into their Week 11 bye, but his schedule moving forward should raise a few red flags. 5 of Henry’s final 6 opponents are in the top half of the league against opposing RBs — not necessarily a death sentence, but something to consider when putting your lineup together moving forward.
