Melvin Gordon Gains Fantasy Momentum in Back-to-Back Games, Returns to RB1 Form

Don't look now, but Melvin Gordon is back and the Chargers are set to ride him hard until he hits free agency.

After the worst and least self-aware four game holdout in NFL history, it took Melvin Gordon another four weeks to shake off the rust, but he’s back. In back-to-back games, Gordon has notched 25 and 20 fantasy points, and he looks like the Melvin Gordon we all know and love. In the last two games, the soon-to-be free agent has totaled 188 rushing yards and three scores on the ground, while adding four receptions for 54 yards. He’s essentially handed off the passing downs to the highly efficient and talented Austin Ekeler, but the Chargers continue to pound the rock in crucial situations with their horse.

Hopefully you were able to snag him in the middle rounds or buy-low on Melvin Gordon because he looks to be a stretch run hero. He gets the Chiefs next before the bye week, then finishes up with the Broncos, Jags, Vikings and Raiders.

With the Chargers a lock to let him walk in free agency, it shouldn’t surprise anyone if they ride him until his wheels fall off.  Hopefully after this performance, The Wolf gives Gordon a boost on his Rest of Season Big Board — up from RB17 (-3 vs ECR).
