Mohammed Sanu an Immediate Fantasy WR2 with Surging Role in Patriots Offense

Tom Brady targeted his new toy early and often against the Ravens.

After a disappointing debut in Week 8 that saw Mohammed Sanu total only 23 yards, the Patriots’ new WR seemed to make a very real jump on his way to becoming a true focal point of the New England offense. Sanu received an Edelman-esque share of targets, pulling in 10 of 14 for 81 yards and a score.  It appeared that Tom Brady was actively looking for Sanu on big plays, and more often than not he came through.  Sanu and Edelman accounted for 60% of the total passes from Brady–an absolutely massive share of the aerial pie.

Suddenly being freed from the purgatory that is Atlanta seems to agree with Sanu.  Despite TB12 saying that it usually takes about a month for him to really click with a new WR, the connection and confidence he has in Sanu is undeniable.  With N’Keal Harry coming off of IR there will certainly be competition for targets moving forward.  This is a nice problem for the Patriots to have, but a possible concern for Sanu’s fantasy owners.  Still, Sanu seems like a solid WR2 at this point with a great deal of upside.  There is little doubt Julio Jones will be watching the rest of his former teammate’s season with envy.
