Courtland Sutton Has Earned Must-Start Honors in Fantasy

Courtland Sutton is beating DeAndre Hopkins, Julian Edelman, and Tyler Lockett in fantasy points... and no one seems to care.

Indeed, we’re still swallowing back puke after Joe Flacco’s pitiful TNF showing. And yet, amidst this carnage, Courtland Sutton is emerging as a mouthwash, sweeping away the filth. Sure, Sutton’s fantasy ceiling is semi-capped while swimming  in Flacco-sewage. Still, the sophomore stud has been a quiet fantasy force, and should be a lineup lock moving forward

Fresh off 6 catches (8 targets) and 87 yards, Sutton has now racked up double digits half-ppr points in 5/7 contests. Moreover, his two “duds” were 6 and 9.6… really not that bad. Plus, with 21.2 and 17.2 resume points, Sutton has flashed the talent to still hit a solid ceiling.

Ultimately, this consistency and ceiling have earned Sutton “Must Start” honors most weeks. Prior to Thursday, he sat as the WR11, ahead of Tyler Lockett, DeAndre Hopkins, and Julian Edelman in PPG.

Plus, if Emmanuel Sanders is dealt, as many expect, Sutton’s volume could skyrocket. Yes, he sucked when Sanders’ attention-drawing presence was removed last year. But, just based on the ole eyeball, Sutton is at a different level this year. He truly is flashing the talent to be an elite target-hog, and could emerge as just that within the week. If his owner somehow doesn’t recognize what he has, strike quickly.
