Kyler Murray Sacked 8 Times, Struggles to Find Fantasy Footing in Week 3

The Arizona Air Raid is a fantasy roller coaster and their quarterback might get killed behind that pathetic offensive line.

Kyler Murray and the rest of the Cardinals offense got exposed again, as the rookie ran for his life and threw 2 yard passes all afternoon against the Panthers. Behind his absolutely atrocious offensive line, Murray was sacked eight times and only threw for 173 yards on 30 completions. That’s a pathetic 4.0 YPA from the No. 1 overall pick. He also added two interceptions and had a few others hit off defenders’ hands. Overall, it was a tough day for the Arizona Air Raid and the offensive line is a major, major concern for the rest of the season.

Luckily, Murray had his best rushing day for the season, totaling 69 yards on the ground, but his lack of protection, mixed with zero pocket presence is not an ideal mix. The dude needs to realize he can’t outrun every player in the front seven anymore and needs to work on throwing the ball away.

The Air Raid has been pretty much as advertised from a fantasy perspective. It hasn’t completely lit up the actual scoreboard and it looks gross at times, but they’re throwing the shit out of the ball and a handful of Cardinals’ weapons are fantasy relevant. So although Kyler is getting murdered by opposing defenses, he is putting up roughly 20 fantasy points per game.

Murray slid down our most recent ROS Big Board to QB10.
