Keenan Allen is the NFL’s Premier Target Hog, Dominates in Fantasy Again

The Philip Rivers-Kennan Allen duo might be the best pig roast in fantasy football.

Keenan Allen is straight up killing the DBs who have been unlucky enough to go up against him this season, and the killing in Week 3 was even more brutal than the ones that preceded it.  After Allen averaged 8 catches and 110 yards a game in his first 2 contests of the year, he set the fantasy world ablaze with 13 catches (on 17 targets) for 183 yards and, of course, a couple of touchdowns in the Chargers’ loss to the Texans on Sunday.

Various freak injuries found a way to derail Allen’s extremely high potential in many of the past few seasons, but this year he’s healthy and Philip Rivers is zeroed in on him completely.  Allen leads all NFL receivers in receptions (29), yards (404–nearly 100 yards ahead of the next guy), and targets (42).  So… yeah, he’s doing OK.

The Chargers’ offense is becoming completely Allen-centric with Melvin Gordon still holding out and with the required-by-law yearly devastating injury to Hunter Henry, so barring an injury the Allen train shows no signs of slowing down.  In short: Keenan Allen’s stock could not be higher right now.  If you’ve got him, sit back and enjoy the ride or make someone sell the farm to pry him out of your hands.  Either way, good for you.
