2018 Fantasy Football: NFL Week 16 Injury Report (Championship Week)

There are a ton of key injuries to monitor for Week 16.

We almost got through an entire regular season without many key fantasy-related injuries, then things spiraled out of control. This list below is updated as of Friday afternoon. However, follow us on Twitter for up-to-the-minute updates on the players who could be ruled out before Week 16.

If you’re looking for replacements for any of these players mentioned below, check out The Wolf’s Week 16 Rankings, or hit him up on Twitter. Good luck and let’s finish the 2018 fantasy season off with trophy.

Declared Out:

James Conner (ankle) will not play Week 16 against the Saints. He has yet to resume practicing and even said himself that he’s not quite ready to play. Fire up Jaylen Samuels (at TE in Yahoo) and expect him to get another 15-to-20 touches in what could be a shootout with the Saints. If you rode Conner to a title though, keep him on your bench for good fantasy karma.

Odell Beckham Jr. (quad) has been ruled out for the third straight game and will miss this week’s action versus the Colts. Hopefully by now you have a backup plan. If not, check and see if Robby Anderson or DaeSean Hamilton are available in your league.

This is old news by now, but Chargers backup RB Austin Ekeler (neck) has been ruled out for the second consecutive game. With Melvin Gordon back to full health, expect a lion’s share of carries for the Fantasy MVP candidate.

Others: Vernon Davis (concussion), Sammy Watkins (foot), Tyler Boyd (knee), Bruce Ellington (hamstring)

Game-Time Decision:

Todd Gurley (knee) will have a pregame workout on Sunday and then a decision will be made on his availability. Surprisingly, Sean McVay said CJ Anderson, and not John Kelly, would be the starter if Gurley misses the game. Anderson needs to be added on all formats for both Gurley owners and non-Gurley owners.

Doubtful:

Chiefs RB Spencer Ware (hamstring) was considered day-to-day during the week. However, he was listed as doubtful on the Chiefs’ Friday injury report. Damien Williams’ owners can rejoice, as he’ll get a full workload (16 touches last week) this week against the Seahawks.

Legitimately Questionable:

JuJu Smith-Schuster (groin) is questionable after leaving practice on Thursday with a groin injury. Although he declined comment in the locker room Friday, he went through Friday’s pre-practice walkthrough. Antonio Brown said he thought JuJu will “be there for us” on Sunday. Things are looking positive for the stud slot man.

T.Y. Hilton (ankle) has been battling through injuries for the past few weeks, but has continued to gut it out and put out big numbers in the process. After getting a practice in on Friday, things are once again pointing upward for the speedster.
