Nick Chubb Shines vs Bucs and Will be a Fantasy Stud Down the Stretch

Nick Chubb is a potential season-winner.

Nick Chubb rushed 18 times for 80 yards and a touchdown in Sunday’s Week 7 loss to the Buccaneers.

With the trade of Carlos Hyde on Friday, Chubb drew the start and out-touched Duke Johnson, 18-to-5. Chubb saw two targets in the pass game, but neither one was catchable. After just 24 yards on eight carries in the first half, Chubb ran 10 times for 54 yards after the break. His touchdown was a 1-yard plunge after a pass interference in the end zone. Chubb is now firmly on the radar as an RB2 option for fantasy next week against the Steelers, but he will still be a touchdown dependent option most weeks, just as Carlos Hyde was.

It was nice to see Chubb featured in Cleveland’s running game after being buried on the bench behind Hyde. Chubb flashed his potential in his huge game a few weeks ago where he ripped off 100+ yards and two scores on just three rushes. He dominated Duke Johnson in touches this week and converted down on the goal line, which is all you can ask for in terms of usage.

Chubb and Cleveland’s upcoming schedule should have fantasy owners licking their chops with the Steelers, Chiefs, Falcons and Bengals up next on the schedule. Chubb is also showing more wiggle than he did in college. He’s the new pacesetter in YAC per attempt (6.8) and missed tackle percentage (32) according to @PFF_Fantasy. He’s shown to have the talent and all that’s left is the Browns organization having a brain to actually use him correctly. Which is a big ask.
