Christine Michael Disappoints in XFL Debut, Takes Backseat to Matt Jones

Christine Michael was an unmitigated disaster in his XFL debut.

The Christine Michael roller coaster was up and running again, but this time it crashed on the XFL field and not the NFL field. The former Seahawk, Cowboy, Colt, etc., probably has the highest name recognition by fantasy football fans, resulting in a 20-plus percent DraftKings ownership in Week 1. So, what did he do? He rushed for a grand total of ZERO yards on seven carries and also added a very pathetic fumble. To make matters worse, former Redskins’ RB Matt Jones had no issues on the ground, racking up 85 yards on 21 carries. All-in-all, it looks like Michael was once again leapfrogged by a backup RB.

Michael, who has always had his share of fantasy truthers, looked old, slow, and weak throughout the BattleHawks upset victory over the Dallas Renegades. After taking a three year hiatus, it might be time for the near 30-year old to hang ’em up.

It’s safe to say Michael is going to take one of the biggest plunges down our XFL Big Board and Rankings, where he was initially ranked RB2. On the other hand, Jones will take a big leap from RB14.
