RotoVegas | NFL Week 10 Fantasy Football Results and Breakdown

Welcome to Week 10 of #RotoVegas presented by the Roto Street Journal. Weeks 1-9 of this competition have been about as lopsided as Thursday night’s Panthers/Steelers game, with the readers trailing our oddsmakers (read: Me) by a score of 30-15 through 9 weeks. That being said, there’s still plenty of time remaining to turn the score around, starting with our polls for Week 10.

Our readers came out in droves yet again on our Twitter and Instagram pages, making their pick for this week’s spreads. Let’s see how you all did this time around.

1. Drew Brees and the red-hot Saints face the Bengals this week, and Brees is a 5-point favorite over Matt Ryan, whose Falcons will play the Browns. Who you got?

Brees -5: 43%
Ryan +5: 57%

Winner: Brees -5

Despite quarterbacking his team to a loss against the Browns (that still feels weird to say) on Sunday, Matt Ryan still ended up with a solid fantasy output on the afternoon. He completed 38 of a season-high 52 pass attempts for 330 yards and 2 TDs, adding 13 rushing yards for a total of 20.5 points on the afternoon. Unfortunately for 57% of you, Drew Brees and the Saints continued their explosive offensive output that has characterized New Orleans’ 2018 season. The league’s top scoring offense dropped 51 points in a win over Cincinnati, as Brees completed 22 of 25 attempts for 265 yards and 3 TDs, tacking on a rushing touchdown for a total of 28.9 points on the day.

2. Kareem Hunt is our Week 10 RB3 as the Chiefs take on the Cardinals, while James White is 5 spots below him when the Patriots clash with the Titans. The line is Hunt -4; what’s your pick?

Hunt -4: 63%
White +4: 37%

Winner: PUSH

Wow. Just… wow. For the life of me, especially using a decimal point system, I never thought we’d have a legitimate push in Roto Vegas. We’ve had some close results, sure, but this is a dead push. Kareem Hunt entered the week as a 4-point favorite over James White. Hunt rushed for 71 yards and added 2 receptions for 25 yards for a total of 11.6 PPR points, while White caught 5 of 8 targets for 31 yards — and added 1 rush for -5 yards — for 7.6 points on the afternoon. This is truly a monumental day in RotoVegas history, and one we’ll never forget.

3. We told you this week to hang onto Chargers stud Keenan Allen, and he’s our WR5 this week and a 6-point favorite over Mike Evans, who’ll face the Redskins. Who you got?

Allen -6: 49%
Evans +6: 51%

Winner: Allen -6

From a scoring push on running backs to a near voter’s push on WRs, but Mike Evans narrowly beat out Keenan Allen in our poll here. Allen, however, got the victory on the field, catching 6 of 9 targets for 57 yards and a TD for a solid 17.7-point showing on the day. Evans, meanwhile, caught just 3 passes for 51 yards in an offensively-challenged loss to the Redskins. Sometimes a wideout is only as valuable as his offense, and as Tampa Bay’s attack continues to sputter, Evans owners may feel the effects.

4. Jimmy Graham and the Packers will look to bounce back against the Dolphins this week, while Trey Burton and the Bears face the Lions. With Graham a 4-point favorite, who are you taking?

Graham -4: 48%
Burton +4: 52%

Winner: Burton +4

This was another close margin in the polls, with Trey Burton barely topping Jimmy Graham. This time, however, the reader’s choice had the convincing win in on-field production. Graham was targeted only once in Green Bay’s win over the Dolphins, making the grab for 14 yards to finish with a modest 2.4 points. Burton, meanwhile, caught all 4 of his targets for 40 yards, adding a 2-point conversion to finish with 10 points in Chicago’s win over the Lions. Finally we have a win for the readers, who have a 1-2-1 week heading into the defenses.

5. It’s the Jets defense’s turn to feast on the lowly Bills, making them our top D/ST option this week. They’re also a 4-point favorite over the Eagles unit, who’ll face the Cowboys at home. Who you got?

Jets -4: 58%
Eagles +4: 42%

Winner: Eagles +4

Well, this one CERTAINLY didn’t turn out the way we predicted for either team. The Jets were involved in the shocker of the week, allowing an absurd 41 points to a Bills team that had averaged 13.7 points per game heading into the season. They managed just one sack and zero turnovers against Matt Barkley, who hadn’t attempted an NFL pass since New Years Day 2017, and finished the day with -7 points as a unit. The Eagles, meanwhile, weren’t much better on Sunday Night Football in a loss to Dallas. They mustered up 4 sacks on the night, but recorded zero turnovers and allowed 27 points, amounting to just 1 fantasy point. It was a shocker of a result, but means another loss for the readers, capping off a 1-3-1 week which sets the season score at 33-16-1 in favor of RSJ.
