Christian McCaffrey’s Soaring Usage Makes him a Potential Fantasy Playoffs MVP

It's almost like preseason usage matters!

Entering Week 12, only 1 running back had topped 40 PPR points in a game during the 2018 season (Alvin Kamara, Weeks 1 and 3). Not only did Christian McCaffrey add his name to that list on Sunday against Seattle, but he also put up the highest-scoring week we’ve seen from any RB this season. CMC ran the ball 17 times for 125 yards and a TD, while also catching every one of his team-high 11 targets for 112 yards and another TD for a total of 46.7 points. McCaffrey accounted for just under 50% of Carolina’s total yards in the contest and, in doing so, posted a fantasy performance for the ages.

Christian McCaffrey‘s RB1 prospects have been far from a secret this year, as his huge role in a strong Carolina offense has always set him up for success. He’s currently 8th among RBs on our Rest of Season Big Board, and his combination of talent, usage, and rest of season schedule makes him a huge contender for Fantasy Playoff MVP already. As long as he’s healthy and on the field, McCaffrey will win some people their fantasy leagues this year.

Furthermore, three of Carolina’s final four opponents (they play the Saints twice) are in the Top 7 in points allowed to RBs, setting the stage for a massive late-season push for the second-year stud out of Stanford.

We tried to tell you that preseason usage matters
