The Saints Offense is Becoming a Fantasy Goldmine at Every Position

This team is a god damn juggernaut.

It’s not often a team has five different players drop 17+ fantasy points in the same game — especially with two topping 30 — but that’s just what the Saints did in their 48-7 rout of the Eagles at home. Tre’Quan Smith led the way for New Orleans, converting a team-high and personal career-high 13 targets into 10 catches for 157 yards and a TD, while Drew Brees continued his incredible season with 363 yards and 4 TDs of his own. But no matter what Saints offensive weapon you own, he’ll likely be a big part of your production in this stretch run to the fantasy postseason.

The Saints top 5 performers were rounded out by Mark Ingram (103 yds, 2 TDs, 22.3 points), Michael Thomas (4 catches, 92 yds, 1 TD, 19.2 points), and Alvin Kamara (71 rush yds, 37 rec. yds, 1 rec. TD, 17.8 points). But the big story of the day was that Tre’Quan Smith finally had the breakout game everyone was waiting for, albeit after many owners may have given up on that ever occurring. He nearly doubled his season total in receptions on Sunday, and was used relentlessly to attack Philly’s banged-up secondary. It may ultimately serve as an outlier game for Smith, but at the very least, Sunday’s performance helped him gain some trust in the minds of Sean Payton and Drew Brees.

Speaking of Brees, the future Hall of Famer is on an absolute TEAR. He’s now topped 28 fantasy points in his last 3 games, throwing 11 TDs in that span, and Week 4 against the Giants remains his only game in 2018 without a TD pass. And with 5 of the Saints final 6 games coming against teams in the top 6 in points allowed to QBs, Brees’ phenomenal numbers should continue through the rest of the 2018 season.
