Kenny Golladay Quickly Becoming A Target Hog In The Post-Golden Tate Era

Matthew Stafford is a big fan of Kenny Golladay.

The Lions have played 3 games since trading Golden Tate to Philadelphia, and in that time Kenny Golladay has established himself as the clear top receiver option in Detroit. He’s been targeted 31 times over the last 3 weeks, including 14 in Detroit’s Week 11 win over the Panthers. This was also Golladay’s best week production-wise in that span, as he finished with 8 catches for 113 yards and a TD. Especially with Marvin Jones missing Sunday’s game and likely missing the team’s Thanksgiving matchup with Chicago, Golladay is a great option despite a tough test against one of the league’s best defenses.

Marvin Jones’ knee bruise kept him out of practice again Monday, putting his status for Thursday’s game in serious question. Assuming he sits again, Kenny Golladay should continue his top-notch production. From a huge 36-yard catch in a 3rd and long situation to an equally-impressive diving 19-yard TD grab that ultimately served as the game-winning score, the Lions continue to prove how much trust they have in the 2nd year wideout.

Despite boasting one of the league’s top defenses, the Bears have allowed the 12th-most fantasy points to opposing wideouts this year, meaning Golladay could be in for another huge performance to open up Thanksgiving Day’s slate of games.
