2018 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 10: Start, Stash and Stream

Want to know who to start, stash and stream for this upcoming week? RSJ has you covered.

Welcome back to Start, Stash and Stream where we provide an in depth look into the waiver wire landscape each week.  With most league’s trading deadline coming this week, fantasy players will have to rely solely on the waiver wire from here on out to round out their squads. And as the weeks begin dwindling, FAAB becomes less and less important. You cannot take it home with you, and no, Stop And Shop stopped accepting FAAB coupons years ago. So scour the waiver for the below buy now players, as this could be your last opportunity to improve your team before the playoff stretch run. As a note, bye week players worthy of Start, Stash and Stream consideration will find themselves in the “Stash” section from here on out, so be wary.

We first highlighted Marquez Valdes-Scantling five weeks ago, noting his supreme production with both Geronimo Allison and Randall Cobb banged up. And now here we are in Week 10, and Scantling finds himself atop the RSJ Waiver Wire. Operating as the clear cut WR2 opposite Davante Adams last week, Scantling oozes with upside the rest of the season as the number two in an Aaron Rodgers led offense. Scantling has recorded 100+ receiving yards or a touchdown in each of the past four weeks, and will maintain weekly flex appeal, at a minimum, the remainder of the season…After Chris Carson (thigh) left Week 10, Mike Davis took advantage and made the most of his opportunities. Davis led the Seahawks in targets (8) and receptions (7), totaling 107 yards on 22 touches. With Carson’s weekly status unclear, Davis is the must add running back of the week…We predicted a breakout in Week 9’s Stream Team, and Duke Johnson delivered. Johnson caught all 9 of his targets for 78 yards and 2 touchdowns, each of which led Cleveland Sunday, and he looked like a different player with Hue Jackson finally out of the picture. Johnson may finally realize his full potential as a pass catcher under a new system, and with the Browns playing from behind weekly he could receive a steady volume stream…With news of A.J. Green (foot) due to miss multiple week, fellow Bengals John Ross and C.J. Uzomah should both receive a weekly uptick in volume…Jamison Crowder (ankle) has missed the past four games, and the Redskins just placed Paul Richardson (shoulder) on IR. Needing someone to step up, Maurice Harris led Washington in targets (12), receptions (10), and receiving yards (124) in Week 9 against Atlanta. In Week 10, Harris faces Tampa’s league worst defense, and could be a sleeper target hog.

    55. David Grinnage, TE, Jacksonville Jaguars (0% Yahoo ownership)

In just his first game back since being activated off IR, Elijah McGuire recorded 67 total yards on 10 touches. His productivity, especially out of the backfield as a pass-catching RB on a Jets team always trailing, could pay dividends to fantasy owners down the stretch…In need of a tight end (like the rest of the world)? Look no further than potential tight end stretch run hero Jeff Heuerman. Heuerman has now caught touchdown passes in back to back weeks, and last week led all Denver players in targets (11), receptions (10), and receiving yardage (83). With a soft schedule down the stretch, He-Man could provide stability to a volatile position…It pains me to say this as a Patriots fan, but Cordarrelle Patterson actually looked somewhat decent Week 9 running the ball. Listen, I know Bill Belichick does not expect him to be any type of lead back, especially with James White back there and Sony Michel returning to the lineup as soon as this week. But as a potential gadget guy getting garbage time touches in a variety of schemes and play calls, Patterson could have fantasy relevance down the stretch…Dez Bryant is working out on Tuesday. With the New Orleans Saints. Dez Bryant. In a dome. With Drew Brees, across from Michael Thomas. Just the thought of it have my pants getting reallllllllllll tight…With Raheem Mostert placed on IR, and Matt Breida due to suffer at least one more injury this year, Alfred Morris has found fantasy relevance once again, unfortunately…Dallas Goedert and Cameron Brate remain two of the better tight end stashes in the league given their early season success, as well as the leads (Zach Ertz and O.J. Howard, respectively) each would be replacing in the event of injury.

If rookie Josh Allen (shoulder) cannot get cleared for Sunday’s matchup with the New York Jets DST, Arnold Palmer…I mean Derek Anderson will get the start. Good news for Anderson, another horrendous performance and he can work on that golf pro card much sooner…The Patriots may have just held the Green Bay Packers to 17 points, but Rodgers and company left points all over the field Sunday. Marcus Mariota and Tajae Sharpe could duplicate their Week 7 success in a prime fantasy matchup against New England…Eli Manning versus Nick Mullens on Monday night! Get your popcorn ready as these two both finds themselves on the streaming radar against mediocre defenses.

Others, for those of you in leagues with your grandparents and pets (50-60% Yahoo ownership)

  1. Doug Martin, RB, Oakland Raiders (53% Yahoo ownership); (7-9% FAAB)
  2. Jalen Richard, RB, Oakland Raiders (53% Yahoo ownership); (5-7% FAAB)
  3. Chris Godwin, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (52% Yahoo ownership); (5-7% FAAB)
  4. Vance McDonald, TE, Pittsburgh Steelers (59% Yahoo ownership); (3-5% FAAB)
  5. Derrick Henry, RB, Tennessee Titans (52% Yahoo ownership); (3-5% FAAB)
  6. Royce Freeman, RB, Denver Broncos (53% Yahoo ownership); (3-5% FAAB)
  7. Benjamin Watson, TE, New Orleans Saints (60% Yahoo ownership); (2-4% FAAB)
  8. Marquise Goodwin, WR, San Fransisco 49ers (53% Yahoo ownership); (2-4% FAAB)
  9. Randall Cobb, WR, Green Bay Packers (60% Yahoo ownership); (1% FAAB)

Doug Martin continues leading the Raiders backfield in rushing attempts (as expected), but Jalen Richard has caught all 12 of his passes over the past two weeks and leads the team in receptions with 43…Vance McDonald continues to be under appreciated in a year where the TE position has been extremely volatile. His steady volume in a high-powered Pittsburgh offense makes him a weekly TE1…Speaking of weekly TE1’s, Benjamin Watson should find himself with that distinction from here on out, playing some of the weakest defenses in the league in the coming weeks.
