DeAndre Hopkins’ Fantasy Stock is Doing Just Fine Without Will Fuller

DeAndre Hopkins was dominant on Sunday.

Is there a stock higher than the ceiling?  If so DeAndre Hopkins found it and might have it going forward.  This past Sunday Hopkins saw a 50% target share with Will Fuller V (Torn ACL) and Keke Coutee (hamstring) out.  Hopkins converted this unheard of opportunity into 10 catches for 105 yards and a touchdown.

What’s most impressive about this performance was the disparity between Hopkins and the rest of the team in targets.  No other pass catcher saw more than three targets this game.  If that is any indication going forward, Hopkins has a legitimate chance to surpass Adam Thielen as the No. 1 wide receiver in fantasy. In fantasy football, volume is king.  With no threat of Fuller for the rest of the season and the Texans announcing they intend to be cautious with Coutee’s hamstring going forward, there is little reason to think Hopkins won’t continue to feast with Demaryius Thomas on the opposite side.  12 targets per game might sound unrealistic, but this game marked the third time that Hopkins’ received 12-plus targets.

Going forward, the Texans are facing the 11th easiest WR schedule.  Barring injury, Hopkins is a clear cut WR1 with a limitless ceiling going forward.  He very well might be worth emptying the fantasy wallet to acquire for title contending fantasy players.
