2018 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 6: Start, Stash and Stream

Wanna know who to start, stash and stream for this upcoming week? RSJ has you covered.

Welcome back to Start, Stash and Stream where we provide an in depth look into the waiver wire landscape each week. After a week that saw a lot of points on the scoreboard from a wide range of players, this week’s version of the Start, Stash and Stream is stacked with a handful of young players who are starting to earn trust from their respective quarterbacks and are living up to their real-life draft position. Mix in a few injuries, especially Jay Ajayi, and there will be a few players worth starting immediately who should be available on your waiver wire.

As a note, bye week players worthy of Start, Stash and Stream consideration will find themselves in the “Stash” section from here on out, so be wary.

Monday changed a few things when the Eagles surprisingly placed RB Jay Ajayi on IR out of nowhere with a torn ACL. We’re leaning Wendell Smallwood over Corey Clement here, after Smallwood stole a goal line carry over Clement just a few weeks ago and has 16+ FPs in 2 of his last 3… Keke Coutee proved he was no fluke after his historic debut, grabbing six-of-seven targets and adding a score… Sam Darnold‘s nuts finally dropped as he hit Robby Anderson for not one, but two touchdowns. Training Wheels off, Quincy Enunwa banged up, and a history of catching fire = Anderson all day… Our guy Tre’Quan Smith filled in admirably for a hurt Ted Ginn, securing Drew Brees’ record-setting touchdown on a 62-yard bomb, before hauling in a second 35 yard score. Capable of a “whole route tree,” Smith would explode if he emerges as the No.2 WR here… Aaron Rodgers returned to form without Geronimo Allison in the lineup, but he’ll still be one of Rodgers’ preferred targets when he returns… Taylor Gabriel is the highest used WR in the Bears ascending attack. Deadly on screens in close. Enormous upside, could be the flex play that saves your season… The combination of Jameis Winston’s return and OJ Howard’s absence could mean good things for Cameron Brate over the next 3-4 weeks… The Colts receivers were a complete clown show without T.Y. Hilton, but Chester Rogers looks possessed more upside (8 receptions vs Patriots) than journeyman Ryan Grant. He’s racked up 11 targets and 8 receptions in back-to-back weeks, and, with Hilton still banged up, will be in line for top-WR volume against a Jets D that got carved up by Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas… CJ Uzomah underwhelmed in his first 2018 start (2 catches, 43 yards), but is staring at an every-down role with Tyler Kroft potentially shelved. That type of volume is enormous at such an unpredictable position.

Stash

  46. Kendrick Bourne, WR, San Fransisco 49ers (0% Yahoo ownership)
  47. Tyrell Williams, WR, Los Angeles Chargers (10% Yahoo ownership)
  48. Ricky Seals-Jones, TE, Arizona Cardinals (27% Yahoo ownership)
  49. Jeff Heuerman, TE, Denver Broncos (1% Yahoo ownership)
  50. Ito Smith, RB, Atlanta Falcons (4% Yahoo ownership)
  51. Jordan Wilkins, RB, Indianapolis Colts (20% Yahoo ownership)
  52. Antonio Gates, TE, Los Angeles Chargers (13% Yahoo ownership)
  53. Stevan Ridley, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers (0% Yahoo ownership)

Nick Chubb would be a true RB1 in Hue Jackson‘s power-heavy run scheme that’s let Carlos Hyde build up a league-high six Rush TDs… Lamar Miller sucks, Alfred Blue is Alfred Blue, and D’Onta Foreman is set to return Week 7. Use your brain and stash him now… Christian Kirk showed off his elite speed when he took the opening play 75-yards for a score. He has legit upside, especially if Larry Fitzgerald ever breaks down… With both Brandin Cooks and Cooper Kupp in concussion protocol, Josh Reynolds could be in-line for a decent target share against the Broncos… Ty Montgomery did next to nothing in a plus-matchup, but this backfield is still a quagmire with no clear winner…. Although Eric Ebron cemented himself as a top-five fantasy tight endJack “The Beanstalk” Doyle is still a favorite red zone target of Andrew Luck… With both Geronimo Allison and Randall Cobb banged up, Marquez Valdes-Scantling hauled in 7-of-10 targets for 68 yards and a touchdown… Rishard Matthews was in Cleveland visiting the Browns on Monday after Rashard Higgins went down with a sprained MCL… DJ Moore was more involved in the Panthers offense after the bye week, securing all four of his targets for 49 yards… Ito Smith converted a goal line carry, while Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman watched from the sideline… With Gio Bernard out for a few weeks, Mark Walton is a Joe Mixon flare up away from bell-cow duties.

Stream

  1. Jameis Winston, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (17% Yahoo ownership)
  2. Alfred Morris, RB, San Francisco 49ers (42% Yahoo ownership)
  3. Mohamed Sanu, WR, Atlanta Falcons (32% Yahoo ownership)
  4. Green Bay Packers DST (52% Yahoo ownership)
  5. Phillip Dorsett, WR, New England Patriots (8% Yahoo ownership)
  6. Indianapolis Colts DST (3% Yahoo ownership)

Jameis Winston will make his season debut against the horrific Falcons defense. He couldn’t have asked for an easier defense to return against… It looks like Matt Breida will miss this week with an ankle sprain, giving Alfred Morris the keys to the Redskins backfield against the PackersCalvin Ridley continues to get all the headlines, but Mohamed Sanu has received seven-plus targets in the past three games… The Packers DST sucked against the Lions on the road, but get CJ Beathard at Lambeau… Tom Brady trusts Phillip Dorsett on intermediate routes and should be in for a shootout with Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs.
