NFL Playoffs Fantasy Football 2017: Divisional Round Recap

The Packers-Cowboys shootout highlighted the Divisional Round.

Let’s take a look back at the games that happened over the weekend and break down some important playoff fantasy performances. All I can say is shout out to Dion Lewis!

A safety in the second quarter swung all momentum to the Atlanta Falcons and they never looked back. Matt Ryan once again looked dominant and completely dismantled the Legion of Boom — minus Earl Thomas.

Next week, Atlanta will have their hands full against the red hot Green Bay Packers in a game that is sure to be a shootout. Make sure you buy extra popcorn for this one because both of these teams can score at will.

Houston Texans @ New England Patriots

Patriots 34 Texans 16

  • Brock Osweiler – 23/40 for 197 yards, 1 TD and 3 INTs, 1 rush for 18 yards – 7.68 fantasy points with 4 pt passing touchdowns; 9.68 fantasy points with 6 pt passing touchdowns

  • Martellus Bennett -1 reception for 4 yards – .4 fantasy points in standard, .9 in half ppr, 1.4 full ppr

This game didn’t start out how many people thought and heading into halftime, the score was only NE 17 and HOU 13, and the Texans defense was showing how talented they really were. However, after the break, the Pats showed their dominance holding Houston to 3 points in the remaining two quarters easing their way into the AFC Championship.

Tom Brady is no stranger to his future opponent in Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers. These two teams faced off earlier in the season, but with an injured Big Ben. This should be a great game and it all depends on which defense makes the plays down in the red zone, and I think that will be New England’s.

Green Bay Packers @ Dallas Cowboys

Packers 34, Cowboys 31

Fantasy Stats for Relevant Cowboys:

  • Dak Prescott – 24/38 for 302 yards, 3 TD and 1 interception, 2 rushes for 13 yards – 23.38 fantasy points with 4 pt passing touchdowns; 29.38 fantasy points with 6 pt passing touchdowns
  • Ezekiel Elliott – 22 carries for 125 yards, 1 reception for -2 yards – 12.3 fantasy points in standard, 12.8 in half ppr, 13.3 in full ppr

  • Jason Witten – 6 receptions for 59 yards, 1 TD – 11.9 fantasy points in standard, 14.9 in half ppr, 17.9 in full ppr

Fantasy Stats for Relevant Packers:

  • Jared Cook – 6 receptions for 103 yards, 1 TD – 16.3 fantasy points in standard, 19.3 in half ppr, 22.3 in full ppr
  • Richard Rodgers – 1 receptions for 34 yards, 1 TD – 9.4 fantasy points in standard, 9.9 in half ppr, 10.4 in full ppr

What a game! The Packers jumped out to a huge 18 point lead that was eventually cut down by the Cowboys, when Dan Bailey hit a game tying field goal with 35 seconds left. Aaron Rodgers completed an amazing 35-yard pass to Jared Cook to set up a game-winning Mason Crosby field goal as time expired. The Cowboys showed maturity and poise as they fought back but the experience of Aaron Rodgers showed once again.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Kansas City Chiefs

Steelers 18, Chiefs 16

Fantasy Stats for Relevant Chiefs:

  • Alex Smith– 20/34 for 172 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT, 2 rushes for 9 yards – 9.78 fantasy points with 4 pt passing touchdowns; 11.78 fantasy points with 6 pt passing touchdowns
  • Spencer Ware – 8 carries for 35 yards and 1 TD, 2 receptions for 1 yard – 9.6 fantasy points in standard, 10.6 in half ppr, 11.6 in full ppr
  • Tyreek Hill – 4 receptions for 27 yards, 3 carries for 18 yards – 4.5 fantasy points in Standard, 6.5 in half ppr, 8.5 in full ppr
  • Travis Kelce – 5 receptions for 77 yards – 7.7 fantasy points in standard, 10.2 in half ppr, 12.7 in full ppr

Fantasy Stats for Relevant Steelers:

  • Ben Roethlisberger – 20/31 for 224 yards, 1 INT, 4 rushes for 1 yards – 7.06 fantasy points with 4 pt passing touchdowns; 18.88 fantasy points with 6 pt passing touchdowns
  • Le’Veon Bell – 30 carries for 170 yards, 2 reception for -4 yards – 16.6 Fantasy Points in standard, 17.6 in half ppr, 18.6 in full ppr
  • Antonio Brown – 6 receptions for 108 yards – 10.8 fantasy points in standard, 13.8 in half ppr, 16.8 in full ppr

For fantasy purposes, this game wasn’t very exciting and Kansas City’s elite defense really slowed down the killer B’s. This was a huge win for the Steelers as they’ll go up against the Patriots in a huge AFC Championship matchup with two of the best quarterbacks in the game.
