“Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter alluded to using a committee approach at running back. ‘When you have three guys who have been here short-term, other than Peyton Barber, your roles aren’t very clearly defined right now. We’ll try to patch it together one week at a time until we get some reinforcements back.”

– Jenna Laine, ESPN

When Jacquizz Rodgers went out with a foot injury, Peyton Barber was surprisingly out-snapped 22-to-3 by Antone Smith. The Wolf highlighted Smith as a key waiver add, but either way, this backfield now looks like a committee against the porous Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night. If you’re trapped in bye week hell, Smith is the option, but other than that, stay away.

We talked about Ben Roethlisberger and his bravery on the Fantasy Stock Report podcast (SUBSCRIBE) and after practicing on back-to-back days, it looks like he might be just tough enough to suit up on Sunday against the Ravens. This will obviously be a big boost to Antonio Brown, Le’Veon Bell, Sammie Coates and others. We’ll keep you updated, but it looks like Big Ben will be back on the field just 14 days since tearing his meniscus.

This could be speculation by us (me), but it makes sense. If Spencer Ware (concussion) was healthy enough to play Sunday, they wouldn’t need to add a running back off a team’s practice squad — which means he has to be added to the Chiefs active roster. If this move tells us anything, Sunday should feature Charcandrick West, with a sprinkling of Bishop Sankey. West should be your No. 1 waiver wire add this week.
