The Eddie Lacy saga continues. Lacy’s ankle is clearly worse than expected — or he hurt it worse by playing last week — and he’s headed to injured reserve. For tonight, it looks like WR Ty Montgomery and Don Jackson will be the main ball carriers, with new acquisition Knile Davis possibly getting a few carries. Ian Rapoport reported that Jackson would be the main back, while a Packer beat writer reported that Montgomery would get the majority of the touches. Either way, Montgomery is the only reliable play tonight and he can definitely be started in PPR formats. Moving forward, Davis is the guy to own, IMO.

THIS SUCKS. LeSean McCoy is currently the third best player in fantasy football, putting up 130.40 PPR points through six weeks, but it looks like he might be on the shelf longer than we initially expected. If you read up on our Week 7 Waiver Watch and/or yesterday’s Daily Fantasy Stock Report, you would have already added his backup, Mike Gillislee. If not, jump on it now — if he’s available still. In limited action this year, Gillislee has been pretty good. He’s put up 117 yards and 2 touchdowns on 17 carries and 27 yards and a score on 3 receptions. Prayers to Shady’s hammy.

“Redskins tight end Jordan Reed and receiver DeSean Jackson are not on the field as the team goes through individual drills. Reed is in the concussion protocol while Jackson has a sore shoulder.”

– John Keim, ESPN

Bad news coming out of Redskins Park, as Kirk Cousins’ two main targets did not suit up on the all-important Thursday practice. As we touched on earlier, Jordan Reed had his sixth (documented) concussion and it’s tough to say when he will be available again. DeSean Jackson has had a bunch of soft tissue injuries and isn’t the toughest guy in the NFL. Vernon Davis is a solid streamer play and was ranked as our No. 13 tight end of the week. If Jackson misses Week 7, Jamison Crowder and Pierre Garcon are also solid streamer plays against Detroit’s wretched defense. Actually, peep our thoughts on playing Garcon in DFS this week.

Quick Hits

  • Carson Palmer missed Thursday’s practice with a hamstring issue
  • The Ravens are hopeful that Joe Flacco (shoulder) plays on Sunday
  • OBJ (hip) was limited at practice, but will travel to London and play. Maybe he shouldn’t have slept with that kicking net.
  • Bills WR Robert Woods (foot) is in a walking boot and could thin out the already extremely thin depth at WR
  • Hue Jackson is optimistic that Terrelle Pryor (hamstring) will play
  • Tyler Eifert (back) was limited, although reporters said he was practicing in full. Expect him to play Sunday — start him vs. Cleveland
