Sad news for our boy Eric Decker as his torn rotator cuff will require season ending surgery. We had high hopes for Decker coming into this season and it sucks seeing that cut short. Luckily for him, he’ll be supported with tender loving care from everlasting wife/bae Jessie James Decker. Decker’s absence gives immediate boosts to receivers Brandon Marshall and Quincy Enunwa. Recent signee Austin Seferian-Jenkins could also be a potential flier if the Jets look to get him more involved.

This is real bad news for someone who has already suffered five concussions in his career. You hate to see this and we hope it doesn’t become something serious with a very real long term issue. Monitor Reed’s practice availability this week to see if he will play Sunday.

It was only a matter of time until it happened, but Steve Smith is hurt and will likely miss time this week. The Ravens receiver had been red hot and was solidifying himself as a reliable fantasy option. With Smith doubtful and Mike Wallace still dealing with injuries, look for both Breshard Perriman and Kamar Aiken to play much larger roles this week. Keep monitoring to see if one of these two starts to separate themselves as the week goes on.

No better time to return than against the Saints. The Panthers RB should fill right back into his starting role and would also benefit nicely from the return of Cam Newton. The Panthers had used both Fozzy Whitaker and Cameron Artis-Payne in Stewart’s absence, but those two should no longer be factors in fantasy leagues.

Dez Bryant has returned to the practice field and is reportedly looking sharp out there on the field. I would expect the Cowboys to push Bryant to play after giving him extra time to rest his knee, and with a big trip to Green Bay looming. Rookie Dak Prescott could really use his top receiving weapon this weekend.

For those who haven’t given up on Sammy Watkins yet, here’s your glimmer of hope. There’s a chance he makes it back in time for the fantasy playoffs and could be a nice IR stash if your league has those slots available. There’s bound to be a handful of frustrated owners who dumped Watkins earlier in the year.

Quick Hits:

  • Packers RB Eddie Lacy did not practice today and is at risk for missing Week 6
  • Week 5 hero Sammie Coates was seen with a cast on his hand today. Nothing serious, just a precautionary measure.
  • Dolphins RB Arian Foster is expected to return this week, helping to put out the Miami RB dumpster fire for now
  • Mike Wallace (ribs) was sporting a non-contact jersey today at practice
  • The Pittsburgh Steelers have unfortunately decided to sign the “fat tub of shit” Karlos Williams while DeAngelo Williams deals with a knee injury.
