Daily Fantasy Stock Report: Cowboys WR Dez Bryant declared out for third preseason game

Every morning we compile the most important fantasy football links of the day for you to stay up-to-date and ahead of your fantasy opponents… This is your number one place for beat writer blabber, injury news, transaction tracking, and fantasy analysis from the experts who taught us a thing or two.

Dez Bryant looked like vintage Dez against the Dolphins, catching two balls for 48 yards and a beastly touchdown on the sideline. Unfortunately, once the Cowboys got Ezekiel Elliott back to practice, they lost their star wideout to a concussion during Monday’s practice. The Cowboys were supposed to have their first team offense on the field together for the first time in a game situation against the Seahawks; however, it looks like they’ll have to wait until Week 1.

“I’d say it’s an ongoing progression,” coach Sean Payton said Monday of [Coby] Fleener’s adjustment process. “I think, man, there’s some plays that are real good, and then there’s some plays where we’ve got to be a little bit more detailed and that’s something that I know he’s got to work on.”

Fantasy football owners have been high on Coby Fleener (Big Board: 64, TE6) and rightfully so. But, this is somewhat troubling news coming out of New Orleans that Fleener and Drew Brees are not yet on the same page. Brees has looked sharp throughout training camp, but mostly with his receivers. Brees has always had success with his tight ends and Fleener’s fantasy ceiling is extremely high heading into 2016.

The tight end caught a break when it looked like his season ended at a practice early in the preseason, when he was carted off the field. It ended up just being an ankle injury, which has held him out until now (he dressed for practice today). With Calvin Johnson retired, Ebron (our TE15) is looking to be a big part of the Lions’ red zone gameplan. I personally have high hopes for Ebron and I believe he is a breakout candidate for 2016.
