“With Mark Sanchez expected to miss the start of OTAs following surgery on his non-throwing thumb, the Broncos are likely get an early glimpse of whether Paxton Lynch or Trevor Siemian can run the first-team offense.”

-Andrew Mason, denverbroncos.com

With Mark Sanchez (lol, butt fumble) not expected to participate in OTAs, the Broncos’ 2016 1st round pick is expected to get first-team reps. Paxton Lynch has the size (6-foot-7, 244 lbs) and the mobility to fit into Gary Kubiak’s bootleg-based offense. Lynch was a standout at Memphis and has much more talent than Trevor Siemian, the former Northwestern product. The winner of the Sanchez-Lynch battle will have decent fantasy upside, with Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas on the perimeter, in addition to a solid running game.

“Tom Brady and his beefed-up cadre of high-powered attorneys have officially filed a petition to have a federal appeals court rehear arguments in the ongoing ‘Deflategate’ saga.”

-Bob McGovern & Jeff Howe, Boston Herald

Will it ever end? Probably not. But the longer Brady’s appeal is heard, the higher chance there will be of him being on the field for all 16 regular season games in 2016. I wouldn’t mind seeing the heir to Brady’s throne for the first four weeks, but at this point… Who knows.

Excellent news for Chargers fans and even better news for Keenan Allen owners. Allen was on pace for a whopping 134 receptions before he went down with a lacerated kidney. Expect Allen to be a top receiver off the board in PPR formats, if he can stay on the field.

This could be frightening for opposing defensive backs, as one of the top wide receivers in the league will be even better in 2016. With the added weight to be more dangerous after the catch, the additions of Lamar Miller, Will Fuller and Braxton Miller; Hopkins will look to put up even better numbers than his 111/1,521/11 2015 season.

Not strictly fantasy:

  • Tyrann Mathieu wants to be paid like a “top defender“… He deserves it.
  • Johnny Football was kicked out of another Vegas club over the weekend. How surprising.
  • Big Cat and PFT Commenter started off #GritWeek with a hilarious podcast featuring the NFL’s biggest bully, Richie Incognito.
  • The hippies were not pleased with Leo, as he collected a “green” award and flew his private jet 8,000 miles back-and-forth to the ceremony.
